Hey guys, just looking for info on SD cards with TwinCAT.

SD card obviously carries the PLC firmware, but can they be used for anything else?

Can we use it for deploying PLC software?

Backup / restore?

Storing log files?

Haven't been able to find anything beyond updating firmware images, changing ip address (by directly editing files) and a mention that it can store PLC projects.

Just looking to see if the two slots on the CX9020 are of any use to me!

Any advice gratefully received!

Cheers

Duncan

@duncan Hey, According to the information here , you should be able to store data on the Micro SD card that's inserted in slot 2.

I think you can you can implement a logic using NT_StartProcess to copy your log files to a location in the micro SD card periodically.

Thanks IOTea. Looks like CSVs can be read / written directly to/from the sd card.

Just having a bit of a dig, and it appears that all files are stored on the first SD Card, and a download writes .tpzip files direct to the card.
So presumably you could write direct to cards to deploy code?

Anyone know if there is specific info or advice around this?

No specific need here, just trying to understand what is possible, and what workflows are being used.

Cheers!

Duncan
